This is still in discussion and totally dependent on finances as it’s a big investment in titles that may or may not provide returns.I have been in contact with my old friend and producer Chris Kimsey and we are examining the possibilities of remixing and remastering “Raingods With Zippos”, “Fellini Days” and possibly “Field of Crows” as part of the re release of my solo back catalogue on Chocolate Frog Records which would include all the solo albums I have under my control.(The only exception is “Vigil” which is owned by EMI and which involves separate negotiations to secure it’s release.)With the 3 albums I need to have the original tapes “baked” and transferred to Pro Tools after which Chris can remix the tracks and even possibly employ a 5-1 mix in the process. It’s an expensive outlay and we are both seeing if we can juggle the figures to make them work. The reissues would come with the relevant promo videos, live footage when we can find it,in depth interviews about the album concerned mixed with home video of the tours and recordings. In some cases there is the possibility of new artwork fronting the original designs and superior inlay books.
Rob Ayling is hunting down costings in the coming weeks and is suggesting opening the reissues this Summer with a box set of the catalogue.Again with the Fishheads project in mind it’s all dependent on costs of manufacture against a reasonable retail price to make sense.
The Forum at http://www.fish-thecompany.com will again be the area where views should be aired on this so I can read your opinions and ideas.
If anyone has access to high quality live footage from any of these era could you please post in the forum area under the re issues thread as I will be trying to track down material in the coming months and would sincerely appreciate your help with this.
A plethora of cunning plans we are trying to bring together and hope we can make work this year!
I forgot to add all the catalogue under my control that is not already available will be reissued on 180 gramme vinyl at the same time:-)
